Building on the triumph of previous celebrations like Raksha Bandhan, Navratri, and Karva Chauth, traders are going all out to captivate Diwali shoppers, adorning their showrooms with elaborate decorations, festive lights, and a myriad of enticing discounts and deals.
Member of Parliament from Chandni Chowk and Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), Praveen Khandelwal, expressed enthusiasm about the extensive preparations underway not only in the national capital but also in various parts of the country for the upcoming Diwali festivities. Markets are being transformed into vibrant hubs with colorful lights, intricate rangolis, and thematic decorations, aiming to create a warm and celebratory atmosphere for shoppers across metropolitan areas, Tier-II and Tier-III cities, towns, and villages.
In anticipation of a surge in demand, traders have stocked up on a diverse array of Diwali essentials ranging from gift items, jewelry, and electronics to apparel, home décor, and puja materials. Khandelwal highlighted the abundance of offerings awaiting eager buyers, including a wide selection of gift items, clothing, jewelry, electronics, mobile phones, home furnishings, decorative pieces, puja essentials, rangoli supplies, deity idols, garments, toys, food items, sweets, electrical appliances, and durable goods.
To heighten the festive excitement, CAIT National President B C Bhartia announced special discounts and promotions that are sure to entice customers, such as 'Buy One-Get One' offers and exclusive Diwali discounts. In preparation for the anticipated influx of shoppers, traders have requested additional security and traffic management support from local authorities, with trade associations bolstering safety measures by deploying extra private security personnel.
