IndiGo, the largest domestic airline in India, hit a major milestone on Friday when it began operating more than its daily quota of 2000 flights.
This makes IndiGo, the first airline in the country and signifies a substantial leap in operating capacity, said the carrier.
OAG Data, as of October 23rd, places IndiGo in the top 10 airlines in the world in terms of both frequency of service and total available seats.
The number of flights operated by IndiGo per day has increased to about 2000. The airline has achieved this milestone in 17years after starting operations back in 2006.
We look back on IndiGo's journey to revolutionize the Indian aviation industry as we toast to the airline's new record of more than 2,000 daily scheduled flights. This is more than just a number, said IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers; it's a strategic step that will allow the company to provide better connections and a new kind of travel experience for its customers.
He declared, "Our mission to connect people and aspirations across India is palpable evidence of our dedication to giving wings to the nation." We appreciate our loyal consumers and business partners so much and want to reach even greater heights with them in the future.
