Indians form the largest national group acquiring citizenship in affluent countries. They formed the primary source country for acquiring OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) country citizenship since 2019. In 2021, according to the International Migration Outlook Report 2023, 1.3 lakh Indians acquired OECD member country citizenship. In comparison, China ranked fifth in the list.
