Next month, the US-based SpaceVIP company will make its debut in India, providing high-net-worth people (HNIs) with intriguing new prospects to travel to space.
With its headquarters in New York, SpaceVIP intends to give space experiences such as lunar, martian, and zero-gravity flights, as well as space balloons similar to those provided by Space Perspective. The International Space Station (ISS) will also be a destination for its passengers. The company stressed in a statement that "for the first time, these luxury services will be available to clientele in India."
Early in 2021, Roman Chiporuka and Eddie Miller established SpaceVIP. Roman was successful in securing the final passenger's $50 million ticket to the International Space Station (ISS) through his lifestyle management and travel company, Roman & Erica.
"I came to the realization that a lot of the conveniences we take for granted in our daily lives are solely products of space ingenuity... According to Roman Chiporuka, co-founder of SpaceVIP, private sector involvement in the space business is driving innovation that is essential to humanity's future and offering us a chance to address the major social, economic, and environmental concerns facing our planet.
Due to the country's growing interest in space operations and the rise of HNIs, SpaceVIP has shifted its attention to the Indian market. According to a company official who spoke with TOI, the corporation has been closely following India's recent successes in space education and exploration, including the successful Chandrayaan-3 moon landing and the recent launch of Aditya-L1 toward the Sun's outermost layers.
According to SpaceVIP, the company's goal is to promote a culture of curiosity around the world and provide its customers a better understanding of the cosmos.
On its website, SpaceVIP boasts that it can reserve seats for 11 different space flight programs. Chiporukha claims that these programs can be finished in a single day with little training and that once regular flights start, ticket sales would pick up quickly.
