The Indian diaspora in the United Kingdom has etched an incredible success story, outshining all other ethnic groups in various spheres of life. A new report titled "A Portrait of Modern Britain" by the esteemed Policy Exchange think tank lauds British Indians as "one of the most successful ethno-religious groups in modern Britain."

From excelling in academics and professional pursuits to ascending the political ladder, the Indian community has left an indelible mark. "Jobs, salaries, home ownership, education or social integration, the Indian community, the largest Asian ethnic group in Britain, is outperforming all ethnic groups, including white British," the report states.

The pinnacle of this accomplishment is Rishi Sunak's historic ascension as Britain's first ethnic minority Prime Minister. "Rishi Sunak became the first ethnic minority Prime Minister of the UK, marking a historical moment in British politics." This milestone underscores the growing political clout and integration of the Indian community, with many others occupying prominent roles like Chancellor and Home Secretary.

The report's Educational and Economic Index (EEI), based on academic attainment, leadership positions, average pay, and home ownership rates, places Indians at the zenith among eight ethnic groups studied. "Indians were the best performers among eight ethnic groups in UK on the Educational and Economic Index (EEI) devised by the think tank based on level of school attainment, share of workers in directorships, senior managerial positions, etc, average hourly pay, and rate of home ownership."

This resounding success story is a testament to the resilience, hard work, and unwavering determination of the Indian community in Britain. Their achievements serve as a beacon of inspiration, showcasing the power of diversity and inclusivity in forging a truly progressive society.

The Indian community's remarkable achievements can be traced back to their strong educational foundation, which serves as a bedrock for their overall success. 'Attainment 8' is a comprehensive measure that evaluates pupils' performance in Key Stage 4, typically completed at the age of 16, in England.

Beyond just excelling in school examinations, Indian students continue to outshine their peers from various ethnic backgrounds, including the white British population, across multiple educational stages, from primary to higher education.
